Book Overview

From 1-5 August, 1994, the crisis affecting Africa over the processes of ‘democratization’ and ‘development’, provided the context for a major consultation jointly convened in Nairobi by the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) and the World Council of Churches (WCC). 115 participants, 30% of whom were women attended the consultation from all over Africa. They included General Secretaries of national councils, churches and other ecumenical bodies, development agencies academics and representatives of three European ecumenical partner agencies. The main issues which the consultation discussed were: globalization, democratization, development and ecumenical renewal. This book contains the report and papers presented at that consultation.

J.N.K.
